Doctors will proceed towards Quetta Red Zone: YDA

QUETTA: Dr. Kaleemullah, spokesperson for Young Doctors Association (YDA), has said that if demands of YDA were not entertained, young doctors would proceed towards Red Zone area of the provincial capital.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said that plan had been devised to privatize government run hospitals, adding that healthcare facilities of the province were deficient of basic facilities as neither there were medicines available in government hospitals nor were essential instruments available in operation theatres.

He said that insulting doctors in the name of Healthcare Commission was not acceptable at any cost. He said that doctors had been on strike for the last four months, adding, “Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has not yet been procured which shows the incompetency of government”. He said, “YDA believes in addressing all the issues through negotiations which should not be considered as weakness”. He said, “YDA avoids taking drastic steps due to the assurance of opposition, senior doctors and Health Minister. Spokesperson said if demands of YDA were not entertained, young doctors would proceed towards Red Zone area of the provincial capital.
