QUETTA: Balochistan Darts Association (BDA) has called on authorities to functionalize the dysfunctional sports complex of Usman Kala, Pushtunabad, Quetta.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, it said that Government of Balochistan, Sports and Youth Affairs Department incurred millions of rupees to construct a sports complex in Usman Kala area of Pushtoonabad in Quetta city a couple of years before for the sole purpose of promoting sports in Pushtunabad, a dense populated and backward area of Quetta city, but the said sports complex remains dysfunctional.
Statement said that workers of one nationalist political party of the area do not allow the staff of Sports and Youth Affairs Department to use the venue for promotion of sports in that area. B.D.A called on Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Culture, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Chief Secretary, Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana, Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Imran Gichki and Director Balochistan Sports Control Board, Quetta, Dura Baloch to get the dysfunctional “Sports Complex, Usman Kala, Pushtoonaba, Quetta” functionalized so that sports could be promoted in that backward area of Quetta city.
