Two army soldiers martyred in gun battle

RAWALPINDI: Two army soldiers were martyred during a gun battle with terrorists in Balochistan’s Kech district of Balochistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

According to an ISPR statement today morning, the terrorists targeted a check post of the security forces in the Kech district of Balochistan. The attack prompted quick retaliation from the personnel of the security forces and in the ensuing firefight, two soldiers were martyred.

According to the ISPR, during the exchange of fire, Lance Naik Manzar Abbas, resident of district Khushab and sepoy Abdul Fath, resident of Khuzdar embraced martyrdom. A follow-operation has been launched in the Kech District to hunt down the fleeing terrorists.

The ISPR statement said security forces were determined to defeat such acts of inimical elements, aimed at disrupting peace, stability and progress of the Balochistan province. It may be noted that according to police, a day earlier, three people were injured in a grenade attack in Khuzdar. Police said a hand grenade was tossed at a petrol pump in Wadh Bazaar, as a result of which three people got injured.
