ISLAMABAD: Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar has said that sufficient stock of Urea is available in the country for the Rabi season.

Addressing a joint news briefing flanked by Minister for Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam here on Tuesday, he said due to punitive measures in Punjab, uninterrupted supply of Urea is being maintained under tracking policy of the government.

The Minister said the actual production of Urea last Rabi was 3017, but the current production estimate is 3255, which is eight percent more than last year. He said Northern Plants will remain operational till March next year and additional gas will be provided to Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Ltd to keep it operational for next three months.

In his remarks, Syed Fakhar Imam said the whole demand of Urea would be met through domestic production. He also commended the efforts of the industry and provincial administration of Punjab to ensure the adequate urea supplies.
