ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Amin Aslam has said that Pakistan has expressed its readiness to reduce emissions fifty percent by 2030.

Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, he said we will reduce emissions by fifteen percent from our own resources whilst further reduction of thirty five percent can be achieved through conditional financing from the international community. He said we have presented this plan to the world. He said Pakistan has already reduced its emissions by nine percent as a result of tangible steps including ten billion tree program.

Amin Aslam said the government has also updated its Climate Change policy and approved National Wildlife Policy to deal with environmental issues. He said the wildlife policy has been framed in consultation with the provinces. He said the wildlife will be protected by involving the local people.
