India misleading Int’l community about normalcy in IIOJK: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar has said that New Delhi is trying to portray a false sense of normalcy in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir IIOJK to mislead the international community.

Responding to a question at his weekly news briefing here on Thursday, he said India has deployed over 900,000 troops, turning the IIOJK one of the heavily militarized zones in the world. Asim Iftikhar said the people of Kashmir are being suppressed and tormented as well as increasingly alleviated. He said India will not succeed in its designs to mislead the world about grave human rights violation in IIOJK.

The Spokesperson said Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, which should be resolved as per relevant UN Resolutions. Answering another question, he said Pakistan is politically committed to its initiative of opening up the Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate Sikh people to visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara visa free. He said it is the India, which has stopped Sikh pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara. He, however, hoped that the corridor will soon be restored.
