Gwadarites’ demands are in line with policy: CM

GWADAR: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, has said that all the demands of the people of Gwadar are in line with the policy of the provincial government.

These views were expressed by him while presiding over a high-level meeting held here on Thursday to review progress of development schemes being executed in Gwadar, establishment of Gwadar university, Cadet College, Gwadar and provision of pure drinking water to Gwadar. Speaking on the occasion, Bizenjo said that in order to plan new development schemes for the development of old Gwadar city, suggestions of the local people would be sought. He said that no compromise would be made on the rights of the people of Gwadar, particularly fishermen.

Meeting acceded to the proposal to allocate funds for the development of old Gwadar city. Naseer Kashani, Chairman, Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) and Director Development, Gwadar, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman briefed the participants of meeting about development schemes being executed in Gwadar. A detailed briefing with regard to the demands of “Huq Du Balochistan Tehreek” and measures adopted for addressing the demands of the protesters was also given to the participants of the meeting.

Meeting was attended, inter alia, by federal Ministers Zubaida Jalal, Asad Umer, Advisor to Prime Minister for CPEC, Khalid Mansoor, Provincial Minister for Health, Syed Ehsan Shah, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana and secretaries of the concerned departments.
