KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce and Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that due to the incompetence of the federal government, the industrialists of Sindh are suffering and factories in Sindh are closing down due to unjustified closure of gas. People are becoming unemployed and poverty is increasing day by day.
He said in a statement that the incompetent federal government had bankrupted the economy. The mainstay of the country’s economy, the export industry, has been closed for the past two months due to dearth of gas.
Jam Ikramullah Dharejo further said that industries need 8 pounds per square pressure gas while the industrial sector has been getting half an inch per square pressure for two months now. Due to which industries are suffering. He said, ‘The industrial sector not only provides employment but it also generates foreign exchange. The federal government is trying to drive the industrialists out of the country due to its incompetence’.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce and Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that not a single industry should be shut down by the federal government. There is no substitute for gas-powered industrial machinery. For the development of the country, it is necessary to provide gas to the industries as per the requirement so that the wheel of industry continues to run.
