ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AJK Justice (r) Abdul Rashid Sulehria has announced a schedule for the delimitation of the local councils across the state.

Briefing media about the schedule in Muzaffarabad on Thursday, he said the delimitation committee will prepare the initial draft of the delimitation from Dec 23 till January 5. The initial draft of the delimitation will be published from January 6 to 9. Complaints could be registered with the delimitation committee from January 7to 14. The committee will dispose of the complaints and issue decisions, from January 8 to 20.

The Delimitation Committee will send the draft of the final delimitation to the Election Commission from January 21 to 24. The CEC said that local government elections would be held before August as per the Supreme Court decision.
